Farmgirl Flowers brings the “wow” factor with succulents, air plants, and fun edibles like kumquats and blackberries — seriously swoon-worthy!

What was your design inspiration?
We wanted to create a cake that had a wow factor but would also stand up to sitting out during a long event. Using plants that have low hydration needs like succulents and air plants ensure the cake will look just as stunning at the end of the party as it did at the beginning. Adding some fun edibles like kumquats and blackberries add texture and are a perfect pairing for giant rounds of cheese!

We didn’t realize cheese could be so stunning! Besides tasting AMAZING, the cheese was the perfect backdrop for highlighting local plants and ultimately created something to swoon over!

What cheeses did you use?
Cake 1: Humboldt Fog Grande, Humboldt Fog Mini
Cake 2: Humboldt Fog Grande, Truffle Tremor, Truffle Tremor Mini

Any tips or tricks?
The rind of the cheese has a beautiful texture, and we wanted to be sure that was complimented and highlighted by leaving some negative space. Using florals and plants that take on an earthy feel evoke the feeling of being on the farm, which we obviously love!
